Summary
Description
Join us for Planting at the San Diego River Mouth!
Give back to the beloved marsh habitat by OB Dog Beach with habitat restoration, beautification, and the installation of new signage. We will be planting 100 native coastal saltmarsh plants in areas where the habitat has been fragmented to enhance the area for birds, wildlife, and people! Come prepared in closed-toed shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. Sun protection and layers are always recommended. We will provide the plants, gloves, tools, snacks and water.

SUNDAY OUTREACH TABLE
Every Sunday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, our San Diego River Mouth Docents set up spotting scopes and an informational booth at the San Diego River Mouth, located next to OB Dog Beach. Come discover why this location is one of San Diego’s Top 5 Best Birding Hotspots!
The San Diego River Mouth is part of an Important Bird Area (IBA) that includes coastal wetlands, sand dunes, sage scrub, and mudflat habitats. With only 10% of habitats like this remaining in California, these areas are critical for species such as the Snowy Plover, Ridgeway’s Rail, and Salt Marsh Bird’s Beak. Show your appreciation for this natural treasure by stopping by to say hello to the River Mouth Docents!
