El Monte County Park is set in the oak forest habitat nestled just below El Cajon Mountain above Lakeside. The ample acorn supply attracts turkeys, acorn woodpeckers, jays, and band-tailed pigeons, while the berries from numerous wild bushes are food for thrushes, finches, sparrows, and phainopepla. Join us to explore this pretty park, rich with birdlife even in winter.
