Description

Help the California Least Tern!

Join San Diego Bird Alliance as we restore nesting habitat for the California Least Tern, a federally endangered migratory seabird, at FAA Island. FAA Island is an off-limits island next to Fiesta Island and is one of the most important California Least Tern nesting sites in Mission Bay!

How do you get there? No worries, we'll boat you over from the Ski Beach Boat Ramp located near 1600 Vacation Rd, San Diego, CA 92109. The boat ramp is located at 32.773700, -117.233061.

Online pre-registration will close at 3 PM on 11/5, however, you are still welcome to just show up the morning of!

We will be removing invasive weeds to make room for these ground nesting endangered seabirds.

All supplies will be provided including tools, gloves, water and snacks, but come prepared in closed-toed shoes and bring a reusable water bottle and hat.

Detailed directions will be emailed once registration closes. Please keep in mind that restrooms are not available on the island so please use the facilities before boarding the boat.
