Silverwood Volunteer Work Party

Please join San Diego Audubon Society as we conduct fire clearance work at Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary in Lakeside! We need volunteers to help mulch several brush piles to accelerate the decomposition process and to mitigate wildfire risk! Likewise, we will be getting sediment deposit in our streams and taking leaves, time permitting.

Most supplies, including buckets and tools, will be provided. However, we ask that you please bring a hat, gloves, water, and snacks for yourselves, and dress in closed-toed shoes and long sleeves.

We’ll meet at the visitor parking lot at Silverwood just beyond the gate. There is a sign-in sheet under the big tree where we will ask you to register your name. Our staff will meet you here and we’ll leave promptly at 8am to begin our work. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

*Please note there is a minimum age requirement of 16*
