Description
On June 13th, join San Diego Bird Alliance, as it hosts the first Silverwood After Sunset! While you have explored its beauty in the daytime, a whole new crew of critters comes out to play when it gets dark. Several volunteers will help lead participants through different outings, including owls and moths. Explore with the different volunteers throughout the night and learn to be respectful of the animals that need Silverwood to thrive.
To ensure space, we highly recommend that you carpool with others outside your household if possible!
Our event will start at 7:30 PM, about a half hour before sunset. We will run for about 2 hours after sunset and hope to find numerous species of noctural insects and owls! Plan to arrive at Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary at 13003 Wildcat Canyon Road Lakeside CA 92040 by 7:30 to be sure you can be to the observation deck by dark. Park in the dirt lot right after the entrance to the preserve. Volunteers will meet you in the parking lot to bring you up to the observation deck where our activities will begin!
