Description
ReWild Mission Bay and the Historic Rose Creek Corridor
A lunch break will take place between 12 and 1 PM for the morning trip participants.
PART 2: In the afternoon, hop on a van and explore the lower Rose Creek corridor to learn about the challenges and opportunities for maintaining this vital wildlife passageway from the wetlands in Mission Bay to the Cuyamaca Mountains and Anza Borrego State Park. Space in the van is limited and requires registration through this event page.
The van will stop along a few key points from the salt marsh in Pacific Beach to the preserved habitat of Marian Bear Natural Park to experience all the faces of lower Rose Creek. Each stop will be around 30 minutes to get out and explore while learning the history of an important Kumeyaay cultural area. This immersive field experience will give you firsthand insight into the interconnected nature of San Diego's coastal ecosystem and the collaborative efforts working to restore and protect it for future generations.
Participants may choose an end point from 3 locations listed below in order of drop off:
- Back to the starting point if that's where your vehicle is parked
- Balboa Park
- San Diego International Airport
Registration for PART 1 is separate, please register here if you haven't already: https://secure.sandiegobirdalliance.org/np/clients/sandiegobirdalliance/event.jsp?forwardedFromSecureDomain=1&event=15128
