Description

Train to support outreach efforts

Join San Diego Bird Alliance UC San Diego's Natural Reserve System for our annual Wander the Wetlands Docent Training on August 16 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at UC San Diego’s Kendall-Frost Marsh to get trained as a docent to support our outreach program, Wander the Wetlands! Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or simply curious about coastal ecology, this is a great opportunity to get involved, connect with the community, share your passion for nature, and help inspire stewardship of this unique coastal habitat. No prior knowledge is necessary, just a willingness to learn!

This program welcomes the general public to experience the marsh twice a month through birding, fish monitoring, and weeding. As a docent, you’ll help lead engaging, family-friendly public programs that highlight the magic of Mission Bay's unique marsh habitat and the opportunities to restore Mission Bay. Wander the Wetlands often include partnerships with local nonprofits, cross-border collaborators from Baja California, and bilingual programming that welcomes and reflects our diverse community.

Please reach out at csantamaria@sandiegobirdalliance.org for any questions. No RSVP is necessary.
