Silverwood Volunteer Work Party

Please join San Diego Audubon Society as we conduct fire clearance work at Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary in Lakeside! We will be mitigating wildfire risk by creating decomposition piles. Come experience the serenity of nature while actively safeguarding it through wildfire clearance.

Most supplies, including buckets and tools, will be provided. However, we ask that you please bring a hat, gloves, water, and snacks for yourselves, and dress in closed-toed shoes and long sleeves. Physical labor and light hiking will be involved.

We’ll meet at the visitor parking lot at Silverwood just beyond the gate. There is a sign-in sheet under the big tree where we will ask you to register your name. Our staff will meet you here and we’ll leave promptly at 8am to begin our work. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
