EDIT (11/1/25): This event has been updated with a new meeting location: We will be meeting at the Conservancy's new Field Station at 12108 Industry Road.
Join us at Lakeside Riverpark as we explore San Diego and meet other likeminded birders and hikers along the way! Meet in the field station for a quick slideshow of river park plants and animals, and then head out to the trail for a guided walk through the riparian trail. The Trail will be a relaxed, easy walk with lots of opportunity for unique wildlife viewing. Restrooms and water are available at the field station.
Lakeside's River Park Conservancy was established in 2001 to restore 100 acres of depleted sand mine on the San Diego River. Over two decades later, we offer critical riparian habitat for wildlife and important ecosystem services to the surrounding community. River park wetlands provide flood protection, improve water quality, and provide the conditions for life for native species.
