San Diego Canyonlands uplifts communities by connecting people with nature through ecosystem restoration, workforce development, environmental education, and advocacy. We harness the mutually beneficial power of conservation to safeguard biodiversity and enhance quality of life.

We acknowledge that our work takes place on the unceded ancestral lands of the Kumeyaay Nation. Through stewardship and collaboration, we strive to honor and complement their deep ecological knowledge and enduring land management practices.

Olivia Canyon is a beautiful urban canyon in the City Heights neighborhood, home to vibrant native wildflowers and thriving wildlife habitat. For over a decade, dedicated volunteers and community members have worked to restore this once-neglected canyon, transforming it from a local dumping site into a flourishing natural space. Today, we host monthly volunteer events and guided hikes in this urban gem. Olivia Canyon is also one of four interconnected canyons in City Heights, all linked together by the award-winning City Heights Canyons Loop Trail.
