Hike at Crosby Open Space

Join SDBA, along with Biologist Molly Morrisey, to learn how Rincon Consultants protects endangered spieces in Crosby Open Space. Enjoy a relaxed 3-mile hike through the riparian habitat - the path is friendly for strollers or wheelchairs, and fairly flat, making this a great hike for all ages. Please be mindful of the mountain bikers who share the path.

Registration is required. Capped at 20 participants. Contact weichler@sandiegobirdalliance.org if you have any questions.

Location and meeting details:

The parking lot is off of Del Dios Road in San Diego. The entrance to the parking lot is next to the Paradise Produce Market, which is at 8173 Del Dios Road, San Diego, California. There is a sign for the San Dieguito River Park in the parking lot of the produce market, that will take folks down the driveway to the parking lot.

About Crosby Open Space

The Crosby Open Space is a 170-acre Preserve along the San Dieguito River, encompassing riparian, grassland, marsh, vernal pool, coastal sage scrub, and chaparral habitat. The Crosby is a joint conservation effort between The Crosby at Rancho Santa Fe Homeowners Association, the County of San Diego, the San Dieguito River Park Joint Powers Authority,  and the habitat management team, Rincon Consultants, which has been managing the Preserve since 2007. Join us, along with Rincon, for a bird walk and a chance to learn more about the history of the Crosby! Learn more at: https://www.thecrosbyopenspace.com/
