Summary
Description
Volunteers will help remove invasive weeds from around the reserve. We'll provide background on the native chaparral ecosystem and training to identify invasive plants. After the activity, volunteers are welcome to join a short guided hike. 🥾🌿

ℹ️ Please note: Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary will be closed on the first Saturday of February (2/7/26). We encourage you to spend the day at UC San Diego’s Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve celebrating Love Your Wetlands Day. Learn more and register here.
🏞️ About Silverwood:
The 785-acre Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary is managed by the San Diego Bird Alliance. Its goal is to protect a large area of coastal chaparral and riparian woodland in a natural and undisturbed state. More than 324 native plant species and 124 bird species have been observed there, along with various reptiles and mammals such as mule deer, bobcats, and raccoons.
