Summary
Description
This Saturday, we will be removing invasive plants from our Riparian Trail. With the rains and warmer winter temperatures we’ve had, an amazing growth of plants across the preserve for both native and non-native species. Non-native plants can be considered invasive when they spread rapidly and outcompete native plants for resources.
The plants we will be focusing on removing include stinging nettle and some other bristly plants, so long sleeves and pants are highly recommended; gloves will be provided!
It’s a hands-on way to make a real difference for the preserve, get some fresh air, and connect with fellow volunteers.
No experience needed! Just bring your energy and a love for nature! 🌿
