Summary

Restore native habitat, remove invasive plants, and help install signage at the River Mouth

Description

Join us for Restoration at the San Diego River Mouth!

Every First Friday we hold restoration events at the San Diego River Mouth. Help give back to a vibrant community of endangered plants, rare migratory and resident birds, and a variety of native habitats. Volunteers may help with invasive weed removal, fence repair, interpretive sign installation, or trash cleanup to enhance fragmented habitat.

Come prepared in closed-toed shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. Sun protection and layers are always recommended. We will provide all of the tools, gloves, snacks and water. Just bring your self and a desire to give back to this important habitat! This event would be part of Border BioBlitz, so come prepared with your Phone to help us document everything we see.

What is a BioBlitz? National Geographic defines a BioBlitz as “an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time.” Many BioBlitz events will be taking place in April and May – check out the rest of the event calendar to see more locations!
