Contribute to Community Science

San Diego and the border eco-region are part of a global biodiversity hotspot—come explore it with us! 🌿

Join our community science Bioblitz, where we’ll work together to observe and document as many plants, animals, and fungi as possible. Your observations will contribute to the greater Border BioBlitz, connecting our efforts to a network of community nature observers.

Whether you're brand new or experienced, this is a chance to slow down, get curious, and see this habitat in a whole new way.

We recommend bringing a smartphone with the iNaturalist app downloaded. No experience needed—we’ll guide you through how to use it and help identify what you find.

At this site we will be venturing into the marsh to remove an invasive wetland plant! All supplies will be provided including tools, gloves, water and snacks, but come prepared in a hat and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle.

Park at the Bayshore Bikeway Parking Lot, and then walk Northwest along the bike path to the work site (about 10 minutes)
