Join us for a guided birding walk at the beautiful Tijuana Estuary Bird & Butterfly Garden, a lush urban refuge that serves as the living inspiration behind Lifer, a new photography installation at Safelight Labs celebrating the birds, wildlife, and wild places of San Diego County and the Tijuana River Valley.
This walk is perfect for beginners and curious nature lovers. We'll stroll through the garden, binoculars in hand, and take in the same sights and sounds that drew our featured photographer, Merlin Mendoza, to fall in love with the natural world.
About the Lifer Gallery & Opening: This walk kicks off the opening of Lifer at Safelight Labs, a photography installation and zine release exploring one photographer's perspective through San Diego County and the Tijuana River Valley. The zine spotlights the community garden at the heart of the Tijuana River Valley, a place where nature and neighborhood meet.
