Summary
Description
This Saturday, we will be working on the Overlook Trail to weed, mulch, and water the native plants. The Overlook Trail has little shade, so the soil tends to be firmer and drier than elsewhere at the preserve. We will use hand tools to remove some of the more stubborn invasive plants, focusing on the natives planted in December. Mulching will then help lock in the water around the plants to help them in the long term!
The plants we will be focusing on removing include stinging nettle and some other bristly plants, so long sleeves and pants are highly recommended; gloves will be provided!
It’s a hands-on way to make a real difference for the preserve, get some fresh air, and connect with fellow volunteers.
No experience needed! Just bring your energy and a love for nature! 🌿
