Summary
Description
As the hot summer day cools down, meet us at sunset to explore the critters that come out after hours at Anstine. We’ll keep an eye out for bats flying over the coastal sage scrub as the sun sets, then set out to explore the rest of the trails. We’ll listen for hooting owls and singing frogs, and see if any of the local nocturnal mammals cross our path.
Anstine features 6 trail segments that have different levels of accessibility, many have uneven ground and some feature steep sections or stairs. We'll explore carefully with our flashlights and headlamps as a group.
When we loop back to the parking lot, we’ll have a “lightsheet” or “mothing” setup to check out some bugs!
