Summary
Description
Friday, August 28th, 9-11am
Join us for a Bird Sit! It is a stationary birding activity, where we go someplace where the birds are plentiful, set up some optics, and watch the birds from the comfort of a chair or bench. A short, easy walk may be offered.
Binoculars will be available for those who are new to birding. We'll have spotting scopes, too. Experienced birders will be on hand to talk about the birds we see and keep track of them in eBird. Expect to see shorebirds, as well as gulls, terns, and pelicans. Birds of prey appear overhead, including osprey, hawks, and falcons.
Drop in anytime, and stay as long as you like! We will have low set scopes for those seated or in wheelchairs. There are some benches with no backs, so we will provide a few camping chairs. The large observation deck invites us to sit and stay awhile, while flat and wide trails along the bay allow for out and back walks to get closer looks at other parts of the bay.
