San Diego Bird Alliance proudly presents... another Queer Hike!
This month: Cowles Mountain
These outings are a safe and respectful space for ALL queer-identifying persons. In this space, we expect everyone to be respectful of identity and chosen pronouns. Pronouns: What and Why
Join us for a nature appreciation hike that is for all people who seek a non-judgemental community, where we celebrate diversity among birds and birders. Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome to join. This one's for the hikers! This is a 3 mile out-and-back route. We will keep a moderate pace, with limited bird identification and interpretation. It will be hot! Come prepared with sunscreen and heat-appropriate attire (hats, sunglasses, light clothing) as well as plenty of cold water. Some sections of the trail are very uneven and rocky. Wear good shoes. You may also want trek poles.
At an elevation of 1,591 feet, Cowles Mountain is the highest point in Mission Trails Regional Park and the City of San Diego. This summit is a focal point in the park and a landmark in the region, offering views of San Diego County and beyond.
