Summary
Description
Join us to celebrate Birdability Week with San Diego Bird Alliance at Santee Lakes!
Birdability Week is a celebration of birders with disabilities and other health concerns, as well as an opportunity to share resources and ideas to help the birding community become accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to everybody!
We will have a bird guide that is fluent in ASL, as well as a sitting bird group. Santee Lakes is a sidewalked birding location, so those with mobility aids will hopefully have an easier time than on hilly trails! Masking is encouraged and some masks will be provided.
Event registrants will be given free parking at the Lakes, courtesy of San Diego Bird Alliance and Santee Lakes.
Wear closed toed shoes and sun protection, but don't worry about hiking gear. If you have binoculars, a scope, or a camera, bring them! Feel free to also bring field guides.
If you're brand new to birding, you're absolutely welcome to join. You'll be led by experienced birders and questions and curiosity is always welcome.
