Free Programs at SDBF: Costa Rica: Raptor Migration Spectacular

Costa Rica is a well-known birding mecca, but fewer birders know of the outstanding migration of raptors through this country each year! Millions of raptors pass through along the Caribbean coast each fall. The Kekoldi Hawkwatch, located in the southeast corner of the country, records the second most raptors of any count in the Americas. Visiting this hawkwatch and nearby viewpoints is a must for any birder interested in migration! In addition, while enjoying the migration and visiting other nearby sites, you see many of the resident species that occur in this diverse country.  During this talk, I will take you through a visit to this region of Costa Rica during fall migration!
