Outreach event: Kensington Earth Day

Trees KenTal is excited to announce the third annual, free, KenTal Earth Day Celebration, Saturday April 13, from 11 AM to 2 PM, at the Kensington-Normal Heights Library Park. Fun activities for all ages are planned, as well as drawings for FREE TREES and other giveaways brought by exhibitors.

Major sponsors are Trees KenTal, Adams Avenue Business Association and KenTal Community Association. This year we add newcomers San Diego Audubon Society and City Farmers to our growing list of exhibitors. Others include I Love a Clean San Diego, TreeSanDiego, SDG&E, Art FORM, Kensington Fire Safe, Earthwell Refill, local Master Gardeners and more. Learn best practices for planting and tree care. Learn to identify and uspport our backyard birds.

ArtFORM is providing ready-made birdhouses for children to decorate and SDAS is bringing a seed ball activity.

Hopes for beautiful canopy trees in Kensington seeded the formation of TreesKenTal---and its focus on landmark tree identification, new planting sites and actual tree plantings.
